Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)

Title: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Cast: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson,
Directed By: Chris Columbus
Running Time: 2hrs. 32 min
Genre: Fantasy | Adventure | Family

This is from where it all started. The anticipation for this movie was really high because the story book had already been a hit and there was too much pressure on the director and the cast to deliver. Also people were expecting to watch the same story, events and places.

The cast of the movie was almost perfect although we did feel that Danial Radcliffe had too much of a nerdy look but as the franchise evolved so did Radcliffe. The special effects were spot on the scenery was awesome. From the acting's point of view the younger inexperienced cast was a little disappointing but maybe we were expecting too much from them. It was difficult to summarize the whole book in 159 mins of screenplay but we think that the main events were pretty much covered. The most memorable part is the giant Troll fighting scene and the sight of Hogwarts.
The role of Dumbledore was beautifully played by the late Richard Harris, it was sad that he was alive only there for the first two parts. The film also stars with Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry's best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

If you are not familiar with Harry Potter this is a very good movie to start off your magical journey.

Continuing with the M.A.D culture, the recommendations for different mood genre are

Girls:  will enjoy it.
Sentimental Guys: Hmmm ..... maybe yeah.
High on Testosterone Guys: Plz don Avada Kedavra me ....
Lonely Guys/Girls: Worth Watching ....
Kids: ...You know i love you guys ...... this is for you. ...

M.A.D Rating : 7.0
