Every girl has watched this movie at least once. After the release of Sweet November i think it was a big gamble releasing a movie with some what similar plot so soon. But here the movie was marketed at teenagers and not at the adult audience.
The short story line is that a prank on a student goes horribly wrong and Landon Carter (Shane West) is punished by forcing him to participate in school community service activities, which include starring as the lead actor in the school play. There he meets Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore), the reverend's daughter. Landon asks Jamie for help with the activities and begins to spend most of his time with her thus developing strong feelings for her, something he was afraid of. But when Landon finds out about Jamie's illness that is the time when they both realized the true meaning of love and fate.
By the way i hate writing these short story lines. Ok lets move on to the important part of analysing the movie.
Both Mandy Moore and Shane West were playing lead for the first time in a Hollywood movie. Shane for me played his part well and probably its because of his acting that the movie became a hit in teens. Mandy Moore...... well what can i say ..... okay i admit that she had to play the role of a terminally ill girl but come on why so weepishly serious ...... Weepishly! wow i think i just invented a word..... anyways .... its a romantic teen flick and its very popular among girls .... so all the more reason for any guy reading this post to watch this movie. The directing and the cinematography, hmmm nahan .. the less said the better or maybe it didn't matter.
All in all ... a good movie to watch if you are in the mood to get emotionally high..
Best Line in the movie: " Maybe God has a bigger plan for me than I had for myself. Like this journey never ends. Like you were sent to me because I'm sick. To help me through all this. You're my angel."
Girls: you will love it
Sentimental Guys:.. Christmas came early guys ... not again
High on Testosterone Guys: Sorry Mate ... i said sorry na
Lonely Guys/Girls: Yeah go ahead
Kids: ...why do i even mention u guyz.......
Note of Caution: This movie is for 15 only :P
M.A.D Rating : 6.5
Ma personal fav is the line 'I'll always miss her. But our love is like the wind. I can't see it, but I can feel it.'
